Created by Prima Food, Prima Satay is an Indonesian twist of a favourite Singapore dish, inspired by the unique flavours of the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. Such Satay is made with strips of meat threaded on bamboo skewers, grilled and served with a juicy tomato-based dip. Ketupat (compressed rice cakes), sliced cucumber and onions are typically served on the side.

Steps
- PREPARATION: FOR MEAT
- 1. Slice chicken. Each piece should be approx. 3cm x 2cm x 1cm thick.
- 2. Marinate chicken with Satay Marinade.
- 3. Leave in the chiller for at least 6-12 hrs or overnight for a better taste.
- COOKING STEPS
- 1. To prevent burning during grilling, soak the satay sticks in water for 30 mins before use. Thread meat on sticks. Each satay should weigh approx. 26g. Flatten meat with the back of a spoon for quicker and more even cooking.
- 2. Brush satay with Satay Basting Oil.
- 3. Grill satay for approx. 2 - 3 mins or till cooked.
- 4. Pour Satay Sauce into a pot and heat for 1 min on medium heat. Keep warm on low heat.
- 5. Serve Prima Satay with satay gravy, cucumber, red onions and Ketupat.
- VARIATION - BEEF STEAK
- PREPARATION: FOR BEEF STEAK
- 1. Slice beef. Each piece should be approx. 1.5cm thick.
- 2. Marinate beef with Satay Marinade.
- 3. Leave in the chiller for at least 6-12 hrs or overnight for a better taste.
- COOKING STEPS
- 1. Brush beef steak with Satay Basting Oil.
- 2. Grill both side of the beef steak till slightly charred or till desired doneness.
- 3. Pour Satay Sauce into a pot and heat for 1 min on medium heat. Keep warm on low heat.
- 4. Serve beef steak with satay gravy, cucumber, red onions and Ketupat.
- PREPARATION: FOR LEMONGRASS BRUSH
- - Use a knife to divide the end of the stalk into sections to turn it into a brush.
